In a move that could shake the face of Mzansi football, Bafana's forgotten striker Tokelo Rantie has been linked with a shock move to the Glamour Boys and Kaizer Chiefs fans have had their say.
He boasts an impressive CV having turned out for teams such as Malmo in Sweden and Bournemouth in the English Premiership, so there's no doubting Rantie's quality.
While there's no doubt about his talent, the real question is whether the 28-year-old has ridden himself of the demons that have derailed a once promising career. Rantie hasn't kicked a ball competitively in about two years.
Pitso Mosimane has handed the striker a lifeline when he allowed him to spend a full pre-season with the defending PSL Champions and has stated in various media reports that he is willing to give TK a chance.
Now in a shock turn of events, the striker has been linked with a move to Naturena.
Although Ernst Middendorp does have some impressive striking options in the form of Leonardo Castro, Dumisani Zuma and new recruits, Lazarous Kambole and Samir Nurkovic, who has impressed fans in their first outing, adding a striker with international pedigree could help Amakhosi end their trophy drought.
Fans have split opinions regarding the possible acquisition of Rantie with some saying that Chiefs could do with a striker of Rantie's calibre, while others feel he has long reached his sell-by date.

"Does a player who has not played competitive soccer for over a year still remain a Bafana forward? When does he become a former? At any rate is there a Bafana player?"

"With Castro's work rate and Nurkovic's unselfishness we are covered we can still play Parker or Manyama upfront, even Khama as well there is also Kambole. Do I smell depth here? We rise."

"TK under normal circumstances, he supposed to walk straight to the starting eleven of any PSL team. The fact that he failed with CTC and he was now on trial with Sundowns. There's something fishy here."

"I think he will be a good signing for us just to keep other strikers working hard for that position."
