Many players in the PSL cite their mothers for playing a crucial role in their early in footballing careers, and Baroka FC goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze is no different.
Speaking to SL Radio, the Zimbabwean international pays tribute to his mom for raising him as a single parent after his father passed away. He also details how he gave his first career earnings to his mother after he got his start in the Zimbabwean second division.
"I remember my first sign-on, I gave it to my mom. And then the salary, I had to buy my clothes, my football boots and a pair of gloves," Chipezeze explains.
"Growing up, being raised by a single parent, it was difficult, so I just told myself that my first signing on fee, I've gotta give it to my mom, as a way of [showing] appreciation for what she's done for us as kids."
In the candid interview for SL Radio's My Starter Pack, the 2018 Telkom Knockout champion also discusses his rise through the ranks as a youngster in Zimbabwean football and shares his thoughts on the greatest goalkeepers of all time.
