SA Star Finishes In Top 4 Of FIFA 20 Summer Cup, Wins R40k

South African FIFA star, Kaylan Moodley, finished in the top four of the FIFA 20 Summer Cup Middle East Africa leg.

The tournament featured eight competitors, with only three African participants in Kaylan, xKandil_ (Egypt) and Ramy (Egypt).

The two African players were pitted against one another in the first round, with Kaylan progressing on a 2-1 aggregate win over the two matches.

The South African would then suffer defeat to the eventual tournament winner, Msdossary, in the second round. The 3-2 aggregate loss put him into the lower round, where he beat xKandil 1-0 on aggregate to qualify for the final stage.

Turkey's Mert AL faced Kaylan in Lower Round won, and secured a 1-0 win in the first game before knocking the South African out with a 2-1 victory in the second match (3-1 on aggregate). Mert AL then dispatched his compatriot Isopowerr 6-2 to book a place in the final.

One of the region's biggest stars, Msdossary of Saudia Arabia, had beaten Isopowerr 5-2 on aggregate earlier to book his spot in the final.

Kaylan's fourth-place finish was enough to secure a decent $2500 prize (R42 000), while the tournament winner claimed $10 000 (R172 000).

The two Turkish competitors also claimed a tidy sum with $7500 (R129 000) going to Mert AL, and $5000 (R86 000) being awarded to Isopowerr.
