Indian Club Now Enters Race For South African

Siyanda Xulu playing for Bafana Bafana during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations

Siyanda Xulu could soon make a long-awaited return to professional football, with sources revealing that the Bafana Bafana defender is being courted by clubs both in Europe and Asia.

After being linked with a move to Romania – where he could potentially join fellow South African Siyabonga Ngezana – Xulu is now attracting interest from a second division club in India, signalling a fresh opportunity to revive his career.

From Chiefs To Europe: Xulu & Ngezana To Reunite In Romania?

The 33-year-old centre-back has been without a club since parting ways with SuperSport United in June 2024, but his experience and leadership qualities continue to make him a desirable prospect in the market.

The interest from India presents a chance for Xulu to not only secure regular game time but also to potentially reinvent himself in a fast-growing footballing environment.

India’s football has increasingly drawn seasoned international players, and Xulu could be the latest to make the switch.

While nothing is confirmed yet, the defender now has key options to weigh up as he looks to get back on the pitch and possibly add a new chapter to his international career.

A decision is expected soon as Xulu eyes a strong return to the professional game.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs player was recently linked with a move to Saudi Arabia where Al Wehda FC and a few other clubs showed interest in his services.
