With talk of a possible exit from Kaizer Chiefs, Soccer Laduma has been informed that interim coach Cavin Johnson will have a big say on the future of Happy Mashiane at the club.
The left footer has been struggling for game-time at the Naturena-based outfit for over a season now, but it appears that things are changing for the player, with Johnson looking at giving the younger players at the club an opportunity to shine.
While there is no guarantee that he will take charge as permanent coach, chances are that the former Platinum Stars and SuperSport United mentor could give the 25-year-old more action in the pitch, which will play a big role in what management decide regarding his future.
Mashiane recently came on for his first appearance of the season when Amakhosi edged Moroka Swallows 1-0 at Dobsonville Stadium and indications are that he will be getting more runs in the final few games of the year.
The Siya crew had reported of interest in the player and a possible move during the January transfer, but he is expected to stay with the Soweto giants at least until the end of the season, with his recent gametime giving him more energy to fight for his spot in the team.
The likes of Samkelo Zwane and Sabelo Radebe, meanwhile, will also be determined to get a more regular run under Johnson.
