Bradley Carnell's Philadelphia Union moved to the top of the Eastern Conference Standings after defeating Atlanta United 1-0.

South African defender Olwethu Makhanya completed the full 90 minutes for Carnell's side, who also kept a clean sheet.

As a result, Union are enjoying their best-ever start to a Major League Soccer season, 29 points in their opening 14 matches.
