The former Kaizer Chiefs head coach was due to attend a pre-Nedbank Cup final press conference this afternoon ahead of the game this weekend, however he was unable to attend as he was taken to hospital as a 'precaution'.
Koketso Gaofetoge explained that, while Baxter was taken to hospital today, he is expected to be fit enough to sit on the sidelines when Matsatsantsa take on Orlando Pirates at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
Gaofetoge told the Siya crew, "He's just had an allergic reaction to something that he's eaten, but he should be discharged from hospital later today. We just wanted to take precautions. He should be ok for Saturday though."
Having lifted the Nedbank Cup during his time with the Amakhosi, Baxter will no doubt be keen to take his place on the bench this weekend as he looks to win his first trophy with the Tshwane-based outfit.
The game is due to take place 15h00 on Saturday afternoon.
