Memela: We Were Prepared To Die
Orlando Pirates man-of-the-match Luvuyo Memela revealed that his teammates were prepared to die on the field for a victory on Saturday. "It was a tough game. The pace was too high from the start, but as a team we knew how they play and we planned for it so it worked out in the end," the Pirates midfielder said after the game. "We knew our results were not good, but we needed to give the supporters something. We knew we had to win this game. "In football everything doesn't always go your way, but today we decided we will give everything to win the game. Even if we had to die on the field, we would win it." When asked about the goal he scored with his weaker foot, Memela added: "The guys are always underestimating my right foot. I knew the field was slippery so if I bounced the ball in front of the goalkeeper, he wouldn't get there."
