Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler has emphasised the magnitude of Saturday's Nedbank Cup final against SuperSport United, saying that qualification for African football will give the players extra motivation.
Bucs Keeper Talking Winning The Cup
The 45-year-old said that last week's match against Stuart Baxter's team has helped his team to prepare for the big game.
"This is like the FA Cup of South Africa," he told the Siya crew. "It's a massive fixture where every player wants to play in and win. We played United about a week ago and that was like a dress rehearsal which helped us look at what we have to do on Saturday to make sure we win the trophy."
The former Bafana Bafana defender went on to say that his team will also be motivated by the opportunity to play in Africa again, after failing to secure a place in continental football by finishing outside the top three in the Absa Premiership.
"It's important to win this trophy because it gives us the chance to play in Africa once again and that also pushes the players to go and win this trophy," Tinkler added.
