Carnell: We Pitched Up In The Second Half

Free State Stars assistant coach Bradley Carnell was disappointed with how slowly his side started against Orlando Pirates on Saturday. Pirates Outclass FS Stars In Goal-Fest Ea Lla Koto went down 2-0 in the first half, and never really got back into the game despite improving drastically after the break. Carnell spoke in the post-match interview as coach Giovanni Solinas was sent into the stands during the 4-2 Nedbank Cup semi-final defeat. He said, "I wish the game started at four o'clock, because that's when we came out to play, in the second half. We got caught dearly in the first half, going two goals down. "Sometimes the occasion weighs more in the legs than the situation itself. In the first half the players were thinking too much about how big the game is. Unfortunately we paid the price early on. "We started chasing the game, and created a couple of chances but then also got caught out on a couple of occasions. "We're bitterly disappointed, because we've shown how we can play over the last four months."
