MTN8 Final, Roger De Sa Reaction, Ajax Cape Town V Kaizer Chiefs, 19 September 2015

Ajax Cape Town coach Roger De Sa insists his side were the better team on the day and fully deserved their 1-0 win in the final of the MTN8 on Saturday at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

A second half penalty goal from Nathan Paulse handed Ajax their first ever trophy in the MTN8 and De Sa believes it was because his team controlled the game.

"I really thought that we were good, especially in the first half," said De Sa.

"We really controlled the game, it was a little bit one sided.

"We knew that it would change in the second half, they would come at us more.

"They are a good team. Obviously they were going to have some half chances.

"Overall I think that we deserved to win it.

"We controlled the game, we had more chances and we ran at them a lot harder, but it's a tough one.

"You beat pirates, Wits and Chiefs, I think you deserve it.

"I thought that we were 1-0 up at half time, I saw the disallowed goal in the change room so I was obviously disappointed, but you have to carry on fighting and keep creating more chances which they did.

"I think the youngsters were outstanding. I think the boys at the back were unbelievable and so were the guys in midfield.

"Overall, I'm very happy for the kids, they have really grown up a lot and we have to keep in from here because we have a tough game on Wednesday in the league and another one on Saturday, so we will celebrate tonight and then we will focus."
