Kaizer Chiefs' players missed out on an extra payday this month, with their bonus for the MTN8 tournament being reduced from R4 million to R400 000 following their defeat to Ajax Cape Town.
As reported in this week's issue of Soccer Laduma, the Amakhosi's bonus structure states that any prize money that is won by the team will be split 50/50, with the players sharing 50% and the other 50% going into the club's coffers.
With Ajax, rather than Chiefs, taking home the R8 million prize money for the MTN8 this year, the Glamour Boys won just R800 000, the same as all of the other six clubs that took part in the competition from the start.

While it will be the disappointment of defeat that will have upset the Chiefs' players the most, they will no doubt also be displeased at missing out on an extra pay packet for September this year.
