With Kaizer Chiefs confirming that Edmilson Dove is currently on the treatment table for an injury suffered during the club's Turkiye pre-season camp, insiders have now confirmed the extent of the Mozambican's injury.
Just last month Chiefs revealed that their 30-year-old defender had suffered an injury, though no clear details were provided on the matter.
"Kaizer Chiefs' defender Edmilson Dove has joined the Club's injury list after he suffered an injury during Friday's session at Amakhosi's pre-season training camp in Türkiye. The Mozambican international has been examined by the medical team in camp. He will leave Türkiye and head back to South Africa for a full assessment and medical attention," the club tweeted on X.

Now, insiders have revealed that the player could miss the majority of the 2024/25 season after suffering an Achilles tendon rupture.
History has shown that this type of injury could lay a player off for up to a year, as seen with former Chiefs defender Sifiso Hlanti, who was sidelined for 11 months after picking up a similar injury.
This setback has seen Chiefs expedite the process for potentially signing Angolan international centre-back Inacio Miguel from Petro de Luanda.
A deal between the two parties is at an advanced stage, with Chiefs set to announce his arrival in the coming days.
