As Hugo Broos prepares to name his final Bafana Bafana squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Uganda and South Sudan, Kaizer Chiefs players could find themselves at a disadvantage.
Broos has included three players from Kaizer Chiefs in his preliminary squad, featuring Rushwin Dortley, Bruce Bvuma and Given Msimango.

Chiefs are one of the clubs that have not qualified for the MTN8 this season and this means they have not had competitive action.
They will not get to play any competitive matches before Bafana take on Uganda on September 6 on home soil and South Sudan away from home four days later. The Premiership is set to kickoff on September 14, after the international matches are played.
Unlike players from Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, Chiefs do not have the luxury of having competitive games. Pirates have already been involved in the MTN8 and CAF Champions League, while Sundowns are set to kickstart their continental campaign soon. Their players have some valuable minutes under their belt and it will increase next week when they play in the MTN8 semi-finals.

Chiefs, though, have had to rely on friendly matches over the last few weeks, which means Broos has not been able to see the players properly. This could be a concern, especially for the infield players, as Broos prepares to name his final squad.
Without competitive matches under their belts, Amakhosi players could find themselves missing out on the final squad.
