As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, insiders have indicated that Kaizer Chiefs have a budget of about R60 million to sign players for the 2024/25 season.
Amakhosi have already signed Fiacre Ntwari, Rushwin Dortley, Inacio Miguel, Bongani Sam, and Gaston Sirino, while more transfers are expected over the next month.

Many, however, wonder if R60 million is enough to sign top players, including their main target, in striker Fiston Mayele, whose club Pyramids FC of Egypt is reportedly looking for at least R11.5 million.
Former Chiefs defender and captain Patrick Mabedi believes the R60 million is more than enough to sign quality players who can help the team going forward. In an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, the Malawi national team head coach stated that it's not about how much you spend but how you spend it that is important in football business.
"R60 million is enough money to sign important players for the team. It's not about buying expensive players but buying the right players. So if the players you are looking at are of a fair price and good at the same time, then R60m is a good amount. You don't buy all players at the same price as you tend to balance it. Some expensive, some at a fair price, some even free but with a good signing on fee so R60m is enough to sign good players. It's about paying the right price and making the right choice of players. As I have said, not all expensive players are good players. So, budgeting for the right players at the right price is very important," Mabedi told the Siya crew.

The former Amakhosi captain further stated that they can use their cash on fairly priced players and more money on a player like Fiston Mayele.
"Yes, they can buy Mayele. That's when I was talking about balancing between price and talent as well. You balance by buying fair players as well as some good expensive ones and in this case looking at the players Chiefs have signed already, they are all good and adding Mayele will make the best season ahead for Chiefs. They can get him with the budget they have at their disposal which is R60m," the former captain concluded.
