The story

As per reports in the UK, Chelsea goal machine Palmer ,is set to cash in on his on-field success by trademarking what's been described as his "shivering" celebration.

The England international, who debuted the celebration in Chelsea's 3-2 win over Luton Town in December last year, is also said to be applying to trademark his 'Cold Palmer' nickname.

The Sun revealed that Palmer plans to use the trademark for a range of products, including alcohol, diet drinks, food, clothing, toys, aftershave, cosmetics, razors, and even cars.

His application to the UK Government's Intellectual Property Office also includes a video of what's regarded as his signature celebration, where he rubs his hands over his arms to mimic shivering after scoring.

Since joining Chelsea from Manchester City in the summer of 2023, Palmer has emerged as one of Europe's top talents, scoring 28 goals, and providing 17 assists in his debut season at the blue, last season's English Premier League Young Player of the Season, with his "cold" goal celebration adding to his global recognition, despite not being the first athlete to do it.

Palmer revealed last season that his celebration was inspired by his former Manchester City academy and England youth teammate, Morgan Rogers.

The Aston Villa star first showcased the move after scoring the winner in a Championship match against West Bromwich Albion while at Middlesbrough, a week before Palmer emulated it.

"My boy Morgz [Rogers] did it for Middlesbrough, so I told him I'd do the same if I scored," Palmer said in a quote shared on the EPL's new site.

But... the celebration precedes both Palmer and Rogers, as three-time NBA All-Star point guard, Trae Young has been performing a similar celebration for a number of seasons now for the Atlanta Hawks.

Young's nickname 'Ice Trae' is inspired by the celebration, with the basketballer stating that he wasn't inspired by anyone in doing it.

Here's Young speaking on this topic with fellow NBA star, Paul George back in August on a podcast:
