SCOUT REPORT

Speaking to Soccer Laduma exclusively this week, Orlando Pirates coach Andile Zulu, who has a CAF B license, was full of praise for 16-year-old winger Sechaba Gaseitsiwe following his exploits at the 2024 Engen Champ of Champs.

What stood out to you the most about Gaseitsiwe, and which player could we compare him to?

This player is one of the good players, and one I think I give credit to the team for because those players are not being exposed to such opportunities otherwise. So, they are doing a good job in giving players these opportunities. The player is the right-footer. One, he's good in 1v1s, he needs to take players on 1v1. Two, I think, before he receives the ball, he knows what he's going to do because he's able to be in the right space at the right time.

While you compare him with all the players that we had in the tournament, he deserves to be the player of the tournament because of the way he played… good in 1v1, good in beating players, and then he creates goals. He scores goals. So, I think, as a winger… and I'm looking at our South Africans… [he is like] Monopole Saleng. He is going that way. He has all the things Saleng has now.

Will the Engen tournament be a stepping stone for him? Will bigger clubs take a look at him?

Yes, for sure. I'm sure of it. I think he's doing a great job. I can tell you, after the tournament for sure, if it's not Chiefs or TS Galaxy, we will see this player playing in a top team, so it's a good stepping stone for him.
