If you are an Orlando Pirates die hard worried about the team's crunch CAF Champions League fixture away to African Stars this afternoon, defender Innocent Maela wants to put you at ease.
The Buccaneers are in Windhoek, Namibia for the return leg of their first round tie against a Stars side that was able to hold them to a tense goalless draw at Orlando Stadium last weekend.
It's a result that's put the South Africans on the back foot to some degree, but left back Maela drew the positives when he spoke to the Siya crew.
"What was clear is that we can create chances," he said prior to leaving for Windhoek.
"That is something we always do when we play, it has become our game model. But it wasn't our day. It's a learning curve for us that you need to convert your chances in such games. For me it was just one of those days where we couldn't get the ball into the back of the net. We were disappointed, but we know this is a tie that has two legs – so we were immediately confident that we are going to go there and create enough chances."
A win for Pirates would mean entry into the group stages of the Champions League for the first time in five years. Kick-off is at 4pm at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.
