Tebogo Moloi's Advice To Sundowns

Tebogo Moloi's Advice To Sundowns

Former Orlando Pirates assistant coach, Tebogo Moloi has given advice to Mamelodi Sundowns based on his experience from being on Bucs' technical team when they were in the CAF Champions League final.

Pirates reached the CAF final back in 2013, but suffered a bitter defeat when they ended up runners-up to Egyptian champions, Al Ahly.

Moloi was the assistant coach to Roger de Sa during his reign as the head coach of the Soweto giants at the time.

Now, Sundowns will be playing the first-leg of the CAF Champions League final and will be facing their North African rivals, Zamalek at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday before they travel to Egypt for the second-leg on 23 October.

"They mustn't concede at home because once they do that, it's going to be a problem. Playing against these guys in the final will be different from when they went away in the group stages," Moloi told Soccer Laduma.

"Now it's the cup that these two teams will be fighting for. Everybody there (in Egypt) tends to be against the visiting team. In the group and knockout stages, you find some of the rival teams' fans supporting the visiting team, but the final is going to be a totally different kettle of fish.

"I know Sundowns have been to Cairo, but whatever reception they got, it's going to be totally different now because the whole country (even the rivals of Zamalek) will be behind the home side," he added
