Orlando Pirates Warned For Light Stars' Return Leg Match

Ted Esther

Orlando Pirates' CAF Champions League preliminary round opponents, Light Stars FC, have vowed to give a fight in their second leg match, this despite them having lost by a big score in Johannesburg.

The team from Seychelles was defeated 5-1 by the Buccaneers at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday evening.

While many have suggested that the second leg match in Seychelles is likely to be a formality, with Bucs looking like they are marching on, Stars coach Ted Esther believes that the game has not been won or lost as yet.

"We kept good organisation, especially in the first 10 minutes of the match. We knew that it was going to be a very difficult one, especially with Pirates, I saw them play last Saturday with Kaizer Chiefs. It was a very physical match. Tactically, they are very good... very quick also. So, I organised my midfield and defence to not concede a lot of goals but unfortunately we lost 5-1," the coach told the media after the match on Wednesday.

"For us, it's not finished. We are going to work hard in the training when we get back to Seychelles in our home ground. I think we are going to play very well there. My players had some problems to digest the environment the first day we came here (Johannesburg). I know we are going to try harder for Wednesday's match," added the coach.
