Pirates will be taking a trip to Seychelles for their first game back in the CAF Champions League, while Equatorial Guinea is where Mamelodi Sundowns will visit.
The Buccaneers have spent several years out of CAF's inter-club tournaments following their bad run in the Absa Premiership, however, their second place finish in 2017/18 meant that they qualified for the CCL once again. Milutin Sredojevic's side will be away for the first leg of their clash with Light Stars of Seychelles, with the game set for November 27/ 28, before welcoming their opponents to Soweto on the 4/ 5 December. Should Bucs be successful, they will go on to play either Volcan de Moroni of Comoros or Namibia's African Stars. Meanwhile, Pitso Mosimane and his side face a trip to Leones Vegetarianos in Malabo as they, unfortunately, return to the preliminary rounds of the tournament following two unsuccessful attempts in the last two editions of the competition. Unlike Pirates, Masandawana will be away from home in the first leg – set for the same dates – but will have the opportunity to finish the job at home in the second part of the tie. Victory over their opponents will see them face either FC Nouadhibou of Mauritania or Libya's Ahli Benghazi.
