The match referee for the tie is Abdoul Ohabee Kanoso who previously arrived late in South Africa for a Bafana Bafana Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match, something which caused a delay for the start of the match.
Kanoso and his countrymen from Madagascar, Augustin Gabriel Herinirina and Velomanana Ferdinand Jinoro, will be the match officials for Bucs v Stars clash, as confirmed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
In 2015, while Bafana were trying to qualify for the 2017 Afcon, the team had the kick-off their match against Gambia at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban rescheduled after Kanoso who was going to be the fourth official on the day and countryman Pierre Jean Eric Andrivoavonjy who was going to be the second assistant referee failed to arrive on time in Mzansi.
The match, which was initially scheduled for a 3 pm was rescheduled to a 7pm kick-off, as a result of the two match officials' failure to arrive on time.

Jinoro had also been scheduled to officiate on that match and managed to arrive on time, together with match referee Hamada el Moussa Nampiandraza.
Bucs will want no delays to affect their planning as they have a Telkom Knockout Final coming up against Baroka FC this coming Saturday.
