Lebogang Maboe Wants Sundowns To Have Killer Instinct

Lebogang Maboe Wants Sundowns To Have Killer Instinct

Mamelodi Sundowns attacking midfielder Lebogang Maboe wants to see the Brazilians show a killer instinct when they host Al Ahly Benghazi in the second leg of their CAF Champions League first round fixture tomorrow.

The 2016 continental title winners were held to a goalless draw by the Egyptians last weekend and Maboe felt they had themselves to blame.

"I feel like if we buried the chances we created things would have been much easier for us coming back home. It's frustrating – we need to score the goals and kill the game," he told the media.

Sundowns' lackadaisical start to the 2018/19 domestic campaign has also been a concern, but did not affect their preliminary round fixture on the continent following a 7-1 thrashing of Leones Vegetarianos from Equatorial Guinea over the two legs earlier this month.

Benghazi were a bit of a closed book for coach Pitso Mosimane and his men, but Maboe is more confident ahead of the return leg in Tshwane.

"This second game will be different. We will look to expose their weaknesses," the attacker argued.
