Jele Reacts To Draw Away To FC Platinum

Jele Reacts To Draw Away To FC Platinum

Following their goalless draw in their opening CAF Champions League clash away to FC Platinum in Zimbabwe on Saturday, Orlando Pirates captain Happy Jele bemoaned the side's lack of killer instinct.

The Buccaneers, playing in front of a packed crowd in Bulawayo, huffed and puffed – only managing a point in their first group stages fixture.

"We knew we were going to face a team that is prepared. They have a good coach and good players, but sometimes we need to be aggressive when we are next to the posts," Jele told the media after the match.

"It was very important to score away – but we will have to take the point. We had incredible support here and wanted to get a good result in front of our fans here because everybody knows Pirates and that was important to us."

Pirates will have to quickly sharpen their attack ahead of Friday's second group stage match at home against Horoya of Guinea.

The Conakry-based outfit squandered a 1-0 lead in their Champions League opener against title holders Esperance at the weekend and also had to settle for a point.
