Brilliant Khuzwayo Still Yet To Make Pirates Debut

Brilliant Khuzwayo is still missing from action after he was again left out of Orlando Pirates' 18-man travelling squad for tomorrow's CAF Champions League first round tie away to African Stars.

The goalkeeper has been struggling with a recurring ankle injury and is yet to make his official debut for the club he joined from rivals Kaizer Chiefs at the start of the 2018/19 season as a free agent.

He recently took to Twitter to address concerns over whether he would ever return to action, saying he had been advised to take his time in his recovery – or risk a permanent injury.

Pirates face Stars at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Namibia tomorrow afternoon at 4pm in the second leg of their Champions League clash and need a score draw – at the very least – to progress to the group stages of the competition.

Stars were resilient at Orlando Stadium last weekend and held the Buccaneers to a surprise goalless draw, making the return fixture a must-win out in Windhoek.

The South African side will look to key players Vincent Pule, Thembinkosi Lorch, Justin Shonga and Augustine Mulenga to get them through.

Full 18-man squad travelling to Namibia, as confirmed to the Siya crew by the club, is as follows:

Goalkeeper:Jackson Mabokgwane, Siyabonga Mpontshane

Defenders:Abbubaker Mobara, Innocent Maela, Marshall Munetsi, Happy Jele, Asavela Mbekile, Paseka Mako

Midfielders:Musa Nyatama, Linda Mntambo, Vincent Pule, Thembinkosi Lorch, Xola Mlambo, Mpho Makola, Thabo Qalinge

Strikers:Augustine Mulenga, Justin Shonga, Thamsanqa Gabuza
