The confirmed list of registered players leave the likes of Wayne Sandilands, Thabo Matlaba and Luvuyo Memela missing out on the initial stages of the competition. Matlaba has had eight starts from Bucs' 13 Absa Premiership matches so far this season, while Sandilands has played only one match thus far. Memela has managed only one substitute appearance under his name at his stage of the season.

The list of excluded players is as follows:

Wayne Sandilands, Justice Chabalala, Lyle Foster, Thabiso Kutumela, Augustine Mahlonoko, Phetso Maphanga, Thabo Matlaba, Luvuyo Memela, Gladwin Shitolo and Diamond Thopola.

As previously reported by the Siya crew, Foster is expected to leave Pirates for French Ligue 1 giants, AS Monaco, with indications that the young forward has already agreed to a contract with the club.
