Dean Furman May Miss Bafana's Game This Weekend

Dean Furman
Bafana Bafana midfielder, Dean Furman, is expected to miss this weekend's clash with Senegal due to an injury to his ribs. Read: Jali, Furman Nursing Injuries Furman sat out yesterday's 6-1 friendly victory over Molemole Academy because of what was described as a 'minor injury' by SAFA, however, it is now thought that the knock could be more serious. According to Siya sources, the SuperSport United captain is due to go for scans today on what is suspected to be a fractured rib, an injury that could potentially keep him out for a number of weeks if confirmed. It remains to be seen exactly what the extent of Furman's rib injury is, although it now does seem likely that he will be unable to feature against the Teranga Lions in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Polokwane, while he could also miss some of SuperSport's upcoming games - possibly even the Telkom Knockout semi-final against Orlando Pirates. The Siya crew will keep an eye on Furman's situation over the next few hours, as well as that of Andile Jali, Tebogo Langerman and Ronwen Williams, with Shakes Mashaba possibly set to be forced to call up a replacement for the Matsatsantsa midfield man if he is indeed unable to play this weekend.
