Spanish La Liga
Teams: Girona v Real Madrid
Date: 29 October 2017
Venue: Municipal de Montilivi
Real Madrid will look to keep pace with FC Barcelona when they take on newly promoted Girona on Sunday afternoon.
The match is scheduled to get underway at 17h15.
Los Blancos have made a shaky start to the defence of their title as they currently lie third on log standings with 20 points from nine games, eight points adrift of table-topping-rivals Barcelona, who beat Athletic Bilbao 2-0 on Saturday. Zidane's troops eased to a 3-0 victory over Eibar in their last match last Sunday, extending their winning streak to four straight games. Real will be without the services of Keylor Navas, Dani Carvajal, Mateo Kovacic and Gareth Bale for today's encounter. In contrast, Girona are placed 15th on the log with nine points from as many games. The La Liga new boys are also coming from a win in their last league game as they managed to edge Deportivo La Coruna 2-1 last Monday. Here's how they line up: Girona: Bono; Muniesa, Juanpe, Bernardo; Maffeo, Pere Pons, Aday, Granell, Borja García; Portu, Stuani. Real: Casilla; Achraf, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo; Kroos, Casemiro, Modric; Isco, Benzema, Ronaldo.
