Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema were among the goals for Real Madrid, as they thumped Real Betis 6-1 at the Estadio Benito Villamarín.
Los Blancos broke the deadlock after nine minutes as Toni Kroos' free-kick found Raphael Varane, who headed home from close range.
The visitors doubled their lead in the 31st minute as Kroos picked up his second assist by feeding Karim Benzema, who slotted home from close range.
Real got their third goal eight minutes later as Benzema's effort deflected into the path of Marcelo, who made no mistake from inside the box.
There was enough time for a fourth goal as Cristiano Ronaldo picked out Gareth Bale, who in-turn teed up Isco for the simple finish.
Real Betis pulled a goal back 10 minutes into the second half, Cejudo collected a pas from Joaquin, before slotting past Keylor Navas.
Los Blancos restored their four-goal advantage in the 62nd minute, as Isco grabbed his second with a superb curling effort from distance.
Ronaldo registered his name on the score-sheet in the 78th minute, as the Portuguese latched onto a pass from Alvaro Morata before rifling the ball into the bottom corner, 6-1.
Despite picking up a big, Zinedine Zidane's charges remain second in the table, after Atletico Madrid defeat Granada 7-1.
