La Liga Result: Eibar 0-4 Barcelona Date: 6 March 2016 Venue: Estadio Municipal de Ipurúa Lionel Messi scored twice as Barcelona strolled to a 4-0 victory over Eibar in their La Liga clash on Sunday. The Catalans were off to a flying start as rare starter Munir smashed home a low cross at the far post after Luis Suarez picked him out with the ball from out wide. Barca kept attacking and came close two minutes after taking the lead as Jordi Alba found Suarez who directed his shot just wide of the intended target. Eibar set up a good chance in the 34th minute as Escalante got on the end of a slick pass, but his drilled effort at goal went the wrong side of Barcelona's post. The advantage was doubled just shy of the half-time break. Messi produced a stunning piece of individual skill which saw him ghost past Pantic and Capa before driving a low shot into the back of the net. The travelers should have been three goals ahead in the 52nd minute. Suarez did the hard work down the right flank before laying it up for Messi to strike, but the Argentine's first touch was uncharacteristically average and the chance was squandered. A rather harsh penalty for Barcelona finished off the hosts as Ramis slid to the grass to attempt a block for a cross but instead saw the ball hit his arm instead. Messi stepped up and netted the spot kick down the middle. Suarez got his name on the scoresheet as well in the 84th minute. The Uruguayan nutmegged Capa before scoring with a low shot to cap off an easy win.
