La Liga   Result: Celta de Vigo 4-1 Barcelona   Date: 23 September 2015   Venue: Estadio de Balaídos   Celta de Vigo pulled off a big upset in La Liga on Wednesday night as they thrashed Barcelona 4-1.   The Catalans put together a couple of good attacks in the early stages but the home goalkeeper Sergio Alvarez was in splendid form and kept the scores level.   In the 26th minute it was the hosts who opened the scoring. Former Barca man Nolito controlled the ball in the box and made room for himself to fire a wonderful strike in off the post and into the top corner of the goal.   The Balaidos faithful were in a frenzy of celebrations four minutes later as their side doubled their lead against the Spanish juggernaut. Gerard Pique was dispossessed on the halfway line by Nolito who then put Iago Aspas through with a header. Aspas lobbed over Ter Stegen to find the back of the net.   Barcelona came out with intent after the break and almost scored on two occasions just past the 50-minute mark.    Firstly it was Messi who was offered a fantastic chance on a silver platter after Andres Iniesta set it up perfectly, but the Argentine hit the inside of the post instead.    Pique had a terrific chance as well. Messi whipped in a curling free kick into the area where the defender rose high to power a header goalwards, but the effort went flying inches over the bar.   The visitors' attacking mindset cost them a third goal in the 56th minute. Celta were swift on the counter attack, putting Aspas through on goal and he was good enough to beat Ter Stegen one-on-one.    Barca gave themselves the faintest glimmer of hope as they pulled a goal back in the 80th minute thanks to Neymar who finished off Messi's assist, but Celta responded immediately to score their fourth goal three minutes later through John Guidetti.
