The injury to Brilliant Khuzwayo has offered a chance to Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, Luthando Sixhaso, to show the Amakhosi faithful what he can do.
The youngster's looming debut comes as Khuzwayo is set for surgery, meaning he would be deputising for Itumeleng Khune, perhaps for the rest of the season.
Khuzwayo's chances between the goal posts came in the Nedbank Cup and when Khune was injured or suspended. This means fate has intervened for the young shot stopper to shine, potentially in the quarter final Nedbank Cup game against Acornbush United.
Sixhaso, is one of the many Kaizer Chiefs youth development graduates such as Khune, Lucky Baloyi, Hendrik Ekstein and Emmanuel Letlotlo, just to name a few who are currently in the first team. And his debut will mean that Kaizer Motaung's dream of having a team mostly comprised of development players is becoming a reality. Players such as Wiseman Meyiwa, Yusuf Bantam, Itu Shopane and the sensational Nhlakanipho Ngcobo are set for promotion.
Do you think Sixhaso's debut will come before the end of this season?
