According to reports, the potential late arrival of Jadon Sancho at Manchester United could trigger a loan move for Daniel James.
The Welsh winger has struggled to get back to the form he showed in his first few games for the club after arriving from Swansea, and now finds himself behind Mason Greenwood in the pecking order.
The Red Devils have been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund's Sancho throughout this transfer window, but are yet to agree terms with the Bundesliga side.
Manchester Evening News has reported that both Leeds United and Brighton are interested in securing the services of James on loan, but it is said that any potential deal will hinge on Sancho's arrival at Old Trafford.
Dortmund initially gave the Premier League giants a deadline to complete the move back in August, after which they have publicly stated that the player will stay in Germany.
The Bundesliga club reportedly set a price tag of £108 million (R2.3 billion) for the England international, and have been unwilling to negotiate from that amount.
It is believed that United will make one more approach for their main target prior to the transfer window closing on Monday, 5 October.
