UEFA Champions League

Teams: Tottenham Hotspur vs FC Barcelona

Date: 3 October 2018

Venue: Wembley Stadium

Time: 21:00

The Blaugrana have only picked up two points from their past three LaLiga games, but did win their UEFA Champions League opener with a comfortable 4-0 victory over PSV Eindhoven.

Messi, who scored a hat-trick in that game, was a substitute on the weekend against Athletic Bilbao before entering the fray in the 55th minute and providing the assist for his side's late equaliser.

Spurs, meanwhile, lost their UCL opener against Inter Milan 2-1. However, they have won their past three games since that defeat and will be keen to get their first UCL points on the board in Group B.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino, though, will be missing a few of his key players as Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen, Mousa Dembele and Serge Aurier have all been ruled out for the game.

The two sides have met twice before, in the 1982 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup semi-final, with Barcelona advancing 2-1 on aggregate after winning their home game 1-0 and drawing the return fixture 1-1.
