UEFA Champions League

Teams: Manchester City vs Real Madrid

Date: 7 August 2020

Venue: Etihad Stadium

Time: 21:00

The English side head into the tie with a 2-1 aggregate lead, an advantage that could prove the deciding factor in this second leg.

Guardiola will be without veteran striker Sergio Aguero and left-back Benjamin Mendy, with the former out with an injury and the latter suspended for the match.

For Zidane, captain and defensive stalwart Sergio Ramos also misses the game through suspension, while striker Mariano Diaz is unavailable after he tested positive for coronavirus last week.

Welsh superstar Gareth Bale was not named in the Spanish giants' matchday squad, with the French manager saying in a pre-match press conference that the 31-year-old opted not to travel, despite not having an injury.

The Citizens will be inspired by their home record in the Champions League of late, having managed to avoid defeat in their past eight matches on familiar ground, a run they will need to extend to advance to the quarter-final stage.

Zidane: Why Bale Isn't In Squad

Guardiola will be relying on the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling to cause Raphael Varane and company problems, while Karim Benzema will be vital for the 13-time European champions at the other end.

Here is how the teams will line up:

City: Ederson, Walker, Fernandinho (C), Laporte, Cancelo, Rodrigo, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Foden, Sterling, Jesus.

Real: Courtois; Carvajal, Varane, Militao, Mendy; Modric, Casemiro, Kroos; Rodrgyo, Hazard, Benzema.
