Mohamed Salah & Sadio Mane

Liverpool need to overturn a 1-0 first-leg deficit against Atletico Madrid tonight to keep their hopes of defending their UEFA Champions League title alive – here is how both teams will line up!

Teams: Liverpool vs Atletico Madrid

Date: 11 March 2020

Venue: Anfield

Time: 22:00

The Reds reached the past two Champions League finals unbeaten in two-legged knockout ties, with manager Jurgen Klopp yet to lose a European knockout clash over two legs.

Los Rojiblancos, meanwhile, were runners-up in 2014 and 2016, and won the UEFA Europa League in 2018.

The two sides' previous meeting in a knockout tie came in in the 2009/10 Europa League semi-finals, which went to extra-time after Atletico won the first leg 1-0 at home before Liverpool led the return leg by the same margin.

The Reds looked like winners of the encounter after scoring a second in extra-time, but the Madrid club then scored the all-important winner to make the scoreline 2-1 and progress to the final via the away goals rule.

Overall, the two teams have met five times so far, with Atletico winning twice and Liverpool once, while the other two matches ended in a draw.

The Premier League leaders are unbeaten in 25 European home games, winning 18 and drawing seven, with their last defeat at Anfield coming at the hands of Real Madrid on 22 October 2014.

Atletico, meanwhile, have lost just five of their past 29 matches in continental competition, among them the 3-0 second-leg defeat at Juventus last year after they had beaten the Serie A side 2-0 at home.

Liverpool: Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Atletico Madrid: Oblak; Trippier, Savic, Felipe, Lodi; Koke, Partey, Saúl, Correa; Félix, Costa.
