PSG were boosted by the return of Angel Di Maria from suspension and Kylian Mbappe who was fit to start, among the four changes, with goalkeeper Sergio Rico replacing the injured Keylor Navas in goal and Leandro Paredes was preferred over Idrissa Gueye.
The Parisians should have been ahead in the sixth minute after Mbappe sent Neymar through on goal inside the box but the Brazilian's poked effort missed the bottom corner by a whisker while Mbappe had a goal was disallowed for a handball a few minutes later.
Marquinhos eventually gave PSG the lead in the 13th minute after guiding a powerful header at the near side towards the far corner from Di Maria's inch-perfect free-kick from the edge of the box.
Leipzig were biding their time for chances on the break and they almost levelled matters midway through the first stanza after Konrad Laimer made a run on the right side of the box before picking out Yussuf Poulsen, who dragged his first-time shot narrowly wide.
Neymar came close to doubling the lead for the French side ten minutes before the break with a clever free-kick from the edge of the box, with Gulacsi expecting an in-swinger but the Brazilian went for goal, curling his shot towards the near post but his effort hit the outside of the post.
The German side shot themselves in the foot three minutes before the break after Gulacsi's low pass from the back went astray and Neymar pounced on a loose ball, sent Di Maria clear on goal inside the box as the Argentine slotted a low strike into the bottom corner to give PSG a 2-0 going to the break.
Julian Nagelsmann's troops were spirited in the early stages of the second stanza but the quality of PSG shone through once again, as Juan Bernat made it 3-0 just before the hour-mark with a header off Di Maria's cross against the run of play.
Tuchel's men had their tails up with 20 minutes remaining, as Mbappe came close to making adding a fourth goal with a header on the far side that missed the far corner slightly wide fron Di Maria's well weighted cross.
Leipzig had breathing space in the last quarter of an hour, pressurising PSG and they came close to pulling a goal back as Angelino found a pocket of space to line-up a thumping strike inside the box but his effort was punched away by Rico.
In the end, PSG saw out the remaining stages with relative to advance to their first final where they face the winner of the second semi-final between Bayern Munich and Olympique Lyon.
