UEFA Champions League
Result: Paris Saint-Germain 2-2 Napoli
Date: 24 October 2018
Venue: Parc du Princes
Angel Di Maria scored a stunning goal in the dying stages of the game to earn Paris Saint-Germain a 2-2 draw with Napoli in the UEFA Champions League.
The game got off to a lively start, with both sides carving out chances in the opening 15 minutes, while Neymar was on the receiving end of a bit of rough treatment from the Napoli stars.
It was the visitors who took the lead on 29 minutes, as Lorenzo Insigne raced clear on goal and lobbed goalkeeper Alphonse Areola to silence the Parc du Princes.
The Ligue 1 champions should have restored parity when Kylian Mbappe was played through on goal, but the French forward was denied by a good save from David Ospina.
That proved to be the final chance of the half as the visitors took a slender lead into the break, although PSG did have their opportunities to score.
PSG came out firing in the second half and they were eventually rewarded on the hour mark when Mario Rui deflected Thomas Meunier's cross into his own net.
As the game went on, PSG were finding it tough to get another goal, which prompted manager Thomas Tuchel to withdraw Edinson Cavani for Julian Draxler in the 76th minute.
However, it was Napoli who got the next goal moments later, with Dries Mertens firing home from close range after Ruiz's initial effort was blocked.
Angel Di Maria had the final say on the night, with his stunning curler securing a vital last-gasp draw in front of his home crowd.
Napoli will now host PSG in the return fixture on match day four.
