Liverpool endured a frustrating night at Anfield after they were held to a goalless draw by Bayern Munich in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie.

Salah could have broken the deadlock for the Reds after 27 minutes, but the Egyptian failed to steer his header on target from six-yards out.
Six minutes later, Mane was guilty of spurning a great opportunity as Naby Keita's shot ricocheted into the path of the Senegalese forward, who dragged his effort wide with only Neuer to beat.
After a lack efforts at goal, Bayern went close to breaking the deadlock after 57 minutes through Gnabry, whose long-range effort sailed just over Alisson's crossbar.
With time running out, Jurgen Klopp opted for a double change as James Milner and Divock Origi replaced Naby Keita and Roberto Firmino on 75 minutes.
Neuer ensured the encounter the goalless as the Bayern shot-stopper produced a superb save at the near post to keep out Mane's header.
It will be all to play for in the second leg, although Bayern will be without Joshua Kimmich for an accumulation of yellow cards.
