UEFA Champions League Report: Juventus v Ferencvaros 24 November 2020

Result: Juventus 2-1 Ferencvaros

Date: 24 November 2020

Venue: Allianz Stadium

Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata were on target for Juventus, who defeated Ferencvaros to qualify for the UEFA Champions League last 16.

Ronaldo was joined in the attack by Paulo Dybala and Federico Bernardeschi as Alvaro Morata, who bagged a brace in the reverse fixture, was only named on the bench.

Juve were stunned on 19 minutes as Ferencvaros opened the scoring through Myrto Uzuni, who volleyed home from close range after Matthijs de Ligt was unable to head clear.

Ronaldo had the ball in the back of the net in the 33rd minute with a neat finish from close range, but the strike was disallowed for an offside.

However, the hosts were back on level terms two minutes later as Ronaldo collected a pass from Juan Cuadrado before finding the bottom corner with a left-footed finish.

The early stages of the second half failed to provide any clear-cut openings, which resulted in Andrea Pirlo introducing Morata, Federico Chiesa and Dejan Kulusevski just after the hour mark.

Morata nearly put the home side ahead in the 76th minute after latching onto Chiesa's pass, but the Spaniard struck the outside of the upright from close range.

The hosts threw everything forward in search of a winning goal, and were rewarded as Morata got the winning goal in second-half stoppage time by nodding home Cuadrado's cross to seal their spot in the next round.
