Real Madrid remain in second spot in Group D after defeating ten-man Inter Milan 2-0, with Eden Hazard ending his goal-drought in the UEFA Champions League.
Zinedine Zidane handed starts to the Nacho, Mariano Diaz and Martin Odegaard while Inter recalled Lautaro Martinez, Stefan de Vrij and Milan Skriniar.
Odegaard justified his selection early on as his through played in Nacho who was brought down in the box to earn Real a a penalty, which Eden Hazard converted to hand the visitors an early lead with his first Champions League goal in three years.
Real were nearly rewarded with a second goal on 13 minutes when Luka Modric cracked the upright with a strike from distance that left Samir Handanovic rooted to the ground.
Romelu Lukaku went close for the home side after 26 minutes with a curling effort that sailed wide of the mark, while Handanovic did well to deny Hazard a second goal at the other ended.
Inter's plans of a comeback had to be changed before the halftime break after Arturo Vidal was sent off after picking up two yellow cards in quick succession for dissent.
Conte responded with a double change at the start of the second half as Martinez and Alessandro Bastoni made way for Ivan Perisic and Danilo D'Ambrosio.
However, it was Los Blancos who got the next goal through Rodrygo, who latched onto Lucas Vazquez's pass to fire past Handanovic just a minute after replacing Mariano.
The hosts went close to pulling a goal back soon after when Perisic managed to carve out some space, but the Croatian's strike sailed just wide of Thibaut Courtois' goal.
Inter did have a couple more sights at goal in the latter stages of the second half, but Courtois and the defence did well to hold out for the clean sheet as Zidane's men move one point leaders Borussia Monchengladbach.
