Venue: A Le Coq Arena
Manchester City struck late in the second half to secure a 2-1 win over Hoffenheim in their UEFA Champions League Group F encounter on Tuesday evening.
The Premier League champions were looking for three points after they began the campaign with a 2-1 defeat to Olympique Lyon.
Pep Guardiola's men got off to the worst possible start as Ishak Belfodi slipped through on goal and slotted past Ederson to put Hoffenheim ahead inside the opening minute.
The Citizens were level after seven minutes when David Silva played in Leroy Sane, who picked out Sergio Aguero for the close range finish.
Both sides pushed for more goals as the half went on, but they were both let down by their decision-making in the final third, much to the annoyance of the coaches.
Aguero and Sane combined once again on 33 minutes, with the former sending his volley just wide of the upright as City upped the tempo towards the break.
The visitors saw a bit more of the ball as the half drew to a close but they were unable to get the second goal as the sides went into the break level pegging.
Ederson nearly gifted Hoffenheim a second goal in the 59th minute with a huge handling error, but Sane got back in time to clear Andrej Kramaric's effort off the line.
City went close to pulling ahead on 71 minutes when Bernado Silva picked out Aguero at the far post, but the Argentine's header was saved by Oliver Baumann.
City eventually clinched the victory in the 87th minute as David Silva intercepted a pass before turning and firing past Baumann from close range.
