PSG made four changes from their Coupe de la Ligue final win over Olympique Lyonnais, as Juan Bernat, Thilo Kehrer, Ander Herrera and Pablo Sarabia were all recalled, while Kylian Mbappe recovered from injury to feature on the bench.

The Parisians missed a glorious chance to grab an early lead after Neymar went through clear on goal in the fourth minute, but he somehow sent his effort wide with only goalkeeper Marco Sportiello to beat.

Atalanta were also threatening in the lively opening exchanges and they eventually broke the deadlock in the 26th minute after Mario Pasalic curled a sweet strike just over the diving hand of shot-stopper Keylor Navas.

Neymar had a wonderful chance to level matters four minutes before the break after breaking away on the left side of the box but he hammered his effort high and wide as PSG went to the break trailing by an odd goal.

The game was still open in the early stages of the second stanza as Atalanta came close to making it 2-0 just before the hour-mark after Berat Djimsiti latched onto a loose ball from a corner at the back post but he struck his volley just wide from close range.

Just after that chance on the hour-mark, Tuchel finally brought on Mbappe in place of Sarabia while Gian Piero Gasperini made a double change as Jose Palomino and Ruslan Malinovsky came on for Djimsiti and Alejandro Gomez.

Mbappe almost found the equaliser for the Parisians with 16 minutes remaining after going clear on goal on the left side of the box but his low shot at the near post was kept out by Sportiello.

PSG had an injury blow in the last 12 minutes, after Navas, who picked up a hamstring problem with 20 minutes remaining finally made way for Sergio Rico.

The French side eventually found the equaliser early in added time, as Marquinhos struck home from close range Neymar's cut-back.

Choupo-Moting snatched the winner for PSG deep in stoppage time from almost a similar move, as the Cameroonian slotted a low shot from close range into the gaping net from Mbappe's low cross as the Parisians booked their spot in the semi-finals to play against the winner between RB Leipzig and Atletico Madrid.
