UEFA Champions League
Teams: Liverpool vs Bayern Munich
Date: 19 February
Venue: Anfield
Time: 22:00
Both sides are missing key players, with Liverpool having to replace the suspended Virgil van Dijk and the injured Joe Gomez, while Bayern will have to do without the banned Thomas Muller and injured duo Arjen Robben and Corentin Tolisso.
The Bavarians qualified for the round of 16 after topping Group E ahead of Ajax Amsterdam, while Liverpool finished as runners-up in Group C behind Paris Saint-Germain.
This clash will be the two team's sixth meeting, with each having won once and three matches ending in a draw. The two previous games at Anfield ended in 0-0 stalemates.
Liverpool are unbeaten in their past six round of 16 matches, winning five and drawing one, all while conceding zero goals. The Reds have also won their past four two-legged ties against German clubs, with their overall record being 14 wins and just two knockouts.
Jurgen Klopp's side has claimed five successive home wins in the UCL, and are unbeaten in European games at Anfield since a 3-0 loss to Real Madrid in October 2014.
Bayern, meanwhile, have won their past seven last 16 ties, with the German giants last failing to progress beyond this stage in the 2010/11 campaign. The Bavarians have also progressed from all of their past five round of 16 ties against English teams, with their overall record against English sides being 10 victories and five knockouts.
Niko Kovac's men are unbeaten in their past eight European away games, winning six and drawing two, and have lost only one of their past 14 games across all competitions.
Robert Lewandowski is the leading goalscorer in the Champions League so far this season, with eight strikes to date, while Mohamed Salah is Liverpool's top scorer with three UCL goals in 2018/19.
