With captain Sergio Ramos appearing to talk himself into trouble after Real Madrid's latest UEFA Champions League match, the Spaniard has now been handed a two-game suspension.
Reports: Ramos Faces UCL Ban After Shock Admission
In Los Blancos' 2-1 win over Ajax Amsterdam in their first leg of their round of 16 UCL tie earlier this month, Ramos was handed a yellow card for a silly challenge late on in the game.
With the booking ruling him out of the second leg, the 32-year-old was asked after the game if he had purposely picked up the card, to which he responded by saying: "Looking at the result, I would be lying if I said it wasn't intentional."
Ramos quickly tried to cover his tracks with a tweet following his remarks, writing on Twitter that he tried to foul the Ajax player on purpose, not get booked on purpose.
However, European football body UEFA has now announced that he has been handed a two-match suspension for "clearly receiving a yellow card on purpose", which will see him miss the first leg of the quarter-final if Real advance to the next round.

Real will play the second leg of the round of 16 tie against Ajax on 5 March.
