The Spanish giants went into the match on Tuesday night with a 2-1 lead but without their influential leader Ramos, who, after the first leg fixture, publicly admitted to getting a yellow card that would make him unavailable for the return fixture at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ramos' actions, however, came back to haunt him and his teammates on Wednesday, when they appeared to be in shambles in defence as they lost 4-1 to Ajax.
With the holders of the competition dumped out of Europe, Solari conceded that his team missed the 32-year-old's presence.
"Of course (we missed Ramos," he told Movistar.
"Without talking badly about any of our players, of course we missed our captain."

Solari, who many believe could soon lose his job, also called for the squad to show character now.
"The season is difficult, but we are here to show our heart and character in difficult moments," he added.
"Easy moments are easy for everyone, you can climb up and surf them, but difficult moments you have to show bravery."
