Guardiola led the Citizens to a 4-2 aggregate win over Real, having won both legs 2-1 in their last 16 tie. Following the second leg at the Etihad, the Spaniard and Zidane were spotted chatting on the touchline.
The City boss has strong ties to Spanish football, considering his historic spell in charge of FC Barcelona, whom he also played for.
Zidane, on the other hand, has a rich history with Barca's fierce rivals Real Madrid, with whom he has won numerous trophies as a player and coach.
Guardiola has since explained what the pair spoke about after the UCL match last week, and also revealed that Zidane was one of his footballing idols during his playing days.
"I congratulated him for LaLiga. I always said to win the league is the most difficult title because it shows 11 months being there," he is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

"We spoke about our families and I wished him all the best. He was one of my idols when I was a player.
"I played against him in the national team with France and I suffered a lot. He was one of the greatest, and as a human being he is an example and I like how he can represent our profession like he does."
