Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has responded to the claims that he needed superstars Lionel Messi, Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta to win the UEFA Champions League at FC Barcelona.

The Spaniard won the European competition in the 2008/09 and 2010/11 seasons during his time in charge of the Catalan club, where he spent four years.
Many have tried to discredit Guardiola's UCL success at Barca by claiming it was down to the players he had, remarks to which the 48-year-old reacted to in a recent press conference.
"I completely agree with them. Completely agree with them," he said, according to The42.
"I would not argue for one second because when I was there, I said many times that I had incredible players.
"I did as well with Munich and Manchester, but in Barcelona, I was a lucky guy, I'm sorry, I was lucky. I agree with them."

Most of the criticism has come since Guardiola has failed to repeat his UCL success with Bayern Munich and City so far, though the English giants will be determined to win the tournament this season.
