Manchester United Jose Mourinho once again stole the headlines after his side beat Juventus 2-1 on Wednesday, when he provoked the home crowd with a gesture. He later explained the reasons for his antics.

The Portuguese manager was seen putting his hand toward his ear after the final whistle of the game, during which his side overturned a 1-0 deficit – with Juve's goal coming courtesy of a wonder strike from Cristiano Ronaldo – into a 2-1 win.

Mourinho's antice resulted a furious reaction from some of the Bianconeri's players, including Leonardo Bonucci, and the United boss had to be escorted of the pitch.
However, he explained the reasons for his gesture in his post-match press conference.
"I was insulted for 90 minutes," Mourinho said, as quoted by The Guardian.
"I do my work and nothing more. At the end I didn't insult anyone, I just did the gesture that I wanted to hear them more. I wouldn't do it again.
"But I came here as a professional that does his work and people insulted my family, this is why I reacted this way. I don't want to think about it."

The win took United back to second place in Group H with seven points, two behind leaders Juventus, and two ahead of third-placed Valencia, who beat Young Boys Bern 3-1 in the group's other fixture.
