After dramatically knocking Liverpool out of the UEFA Champions League at the round of 16 stage on Wednesday night, Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone responded to Jurgen Klopp's criticism of his team's style of play.

The German manager did not seem too impressed with Los Rojiblancos' negative approach to the second leg of the tie, following the Reds' 3-2 loss after extra-time.
Atletico advanced to the quarter-finals with a 4-2 aggregate win, but Klopp cut a frustrated figure after the match, saying he could not understand Simeone's reasons for his defensive set-up.
However, Atleti's Argentine boss was seemingly uninterested in getting into a war of words with Klopp.

"I respect his identity and the quality footballers they have," Simeone said, according to the Liverpool Echo.
"We try to exploit deficiencies in the opponent. That's what we do. And we try to win."
Simeone also spoke about what he perceived to be an unfair advantage his side had over Liverpool.
"What I have to say, and will be saying at the next UEFA coaches' meeting, is what I think is unfair," he added.
"Today was unjust because we had 30 minutes of extra-time to score three away goals. Liverpool never had that. We had 30 more minutes to score an away goal and Liverpool didn't. That's not fair.
"The rule favoured us today but it might go against us in the future. Liverpool had 30 minutes fewer to score an away goal. That's wrong."
With the match on Wednesday ending 1-0 in Liverpool's favour in the 90 minutes, Roberto Firmino put the Reds two goals up in the 94th minute, but the Merseysiders were sent home from the competition when the Rojiblancos struck three times in extra-time.
